This week I had another opportunity to work with Flashes of Hope which is an amazing organization dedicated to enriching the lives of ill children and their families through the gift of photography. Each month Flashes of Hope plans a photoshoot at St. Louis Children’s Hospital with various professional photographers from the area to capture images of these brave kids. I’m always eager to help out and they called me for this month’s shoot so I jumped at the chance. Little did I know that our St. Louis Blues hockey team had partnered with Flashes of Hope and would be sending players to the shoot, 2 camera crews and even Louie our team mascot. Blues captain Eric Brewer, David Backes, Jay McClement and their wives were all there to help out, sign autographs and pose for pictures with the kids so, needless to say, there was a LOT of excitement in the hospital that day. I feel very fortunate to have the chance to help the kids and their families and bring some joy into their lives during their challenging times. Of course, a huge thanks to Diana Davidson who is the person responsible for all of this and the new Flashes of Hope St. Louis chapter director.
