We’re very excited to introduce Emily McDonald as the latest addition to our team here at the studio. Emily will be interning with us for a while and will be gaining knowledge in pretty much every aspect of the biz here. She’s a recent graduate from Appalachian State University with degrees in Commercial Photography and Journalism so armed with her excellent skills and her outgoing, friendly personality (and some arm ink) she’s got a bright future ahead of her in this industry. Welcome aboard!
We’re happy to show off our new motion reel featuring work shot over the past year from various clients and internal projects. We’ve been hitting it hard and now with Victor on board you can keep your eyes peeled for some great work to come as we continue to roll out more video projects. Interested in working with us? Reach out and let’s roll.
Last year was a year of significant growth here and we’ve slowly and quietly been adding members to our team strengthening our services across the board. Well, its time to let you know who the new peeps are so you can see who you’ll be working with. Wish them good luck… working with that John guy they’re gonna need it!
I’m very excited that one of our recent projects will be premiering at the Tivoli Theatre in the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase on Monday, July 9th with the showcase beginning at 5pm.
The gang at Antidote contacted me a couple months back about collaborating on a motion project profiling Damon Davis, a local STL artist, so excited would be an understatement to work on a promo short like this. I was DP on the project so we worked closely to develop the overall approach and then shot the entire piece on their Red Epic camera. Mmmmm RED. (more…)
The good folks over at Wonderful Machine caught wind of my shooting for STIHL last year and were curious about what went into shooting the project. They recently interviewed me about it and you can read all of the details on their blog… er… Cog. Thanks, WM!
Practical Photoshop Magazine invited me to include one of my parkour athlete images in the “World of Photoshop” section of their Feb ’12 issue. (more…)
The crew over at Wonderful Machine were nice enough to interview me about my recent Bud Light Masterpiece stop-motion video. A big thanks to them for taking an interest in my work!
I was on assignment last week up in Kansas City for a few days so I had the chance to visit some old friends and see the amazing job they did on their new workspace. Whiskey Design and Kazoo Marketing fit perfectly into the renovated yeast factory-turned-workspace & event space that is quite impressive to say the least. Check ‘em out of you’re in need of kick ass art direction/design and a kick ass marketing strategy to bring you in more business that you thought possible. Thought I’d share some pics…
Matt and Sam hard at work…
Feds West? Hmmm…
The steadily growing awards collection…
Cindy & Ashley hiding from the camera…
The Flipside event space…
Cameron, my assistant, sharing his feelings on my asking him to stand in for a light test…
I was recently interviewed by multimedia blogger, Brian Singler, who was interested in finding out the details regarding the viral spot I created for Stellina Pasta Cafe a ways back as it was my first formal motion gig. If you’re curious about what went into the production then check out Part 1 here and if you’re curious what Heaven tastes like then go have a meal at Stellina. Cheers!
We’re happy to announce that I’ve joined a select roster with some of the world’s leading photographers contributing to Blend Images. Blend is the leading stock photography agency for multicultural imagery and I’m excited to have been accepted. Our work will soon be available worldwide throughout their distribution network so we’ll keep you all posted once imagery becomes available. Okay, off to plan some shoots!
A huge congrats to Carrie Hruza on being crowned Mrs. Missouri! I recently photographed her to produce her headshots for the pageant entry and, of course, she went and won the whole damn thing… not that there was any doubt. She’s an amazing person who has the looks, charisma and smarts (she’s a doctor) which will, I’m sure, take her to Mrs. America and onto Mrs. World.
Oh wait, that sounds like the path of Andrea Robertson who I also shot last year and went all the way to win runner up for Mrs. World.
Hmm, there seems to be a pattern taking shape… that’s 2 years, 2 shoots and 2 Mrs. Missouri crowns soooo I guess this means that great things happen to people who work with me.
It’s official… I’ve been voted in as the new president of the St. Louis Chapter of ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers). It’s an honor to be at the helm of a great board of directors leading such a great organization of talented photographers in St. Louis and I’m looking forward to many bright days ahead for our chapter. This year will focus heavily on education for our members with events planned to give us all a leg up through this difficult economy. Upcoming events will include a Pricing and Copyright seminar with Susan Carr and other future events will cover marketing/portfolio, multimedia/video, and many more. I’m looking forward to a challenging and rewarding year ahead.
Photographers, don’t hesitate to contact me if you want to get involved in ASMP.
